Baltimore Country Club is a conservative social Club, steeped in customs and traditions.

All guests are asked to defer to this culture in both behavior and attire when visiting the Five Farms and Roland Park facilities. Prior to coming to our Club, we encourage you to review our policies and traditions, as we want to ensure that you enjoy your stay with us. We look forward to your visit.

  • Definitions
    • Country Club Casual
      Gentlemen: Tucked in collared shirts, slacks, and closed-toe shoes are required.
      (Conservative length shorts are acceptable at Five Farms only.) Jackets and ties are optional.
      Ladies: Dresses, skirts, shorts, or slacks are appropriate and must be a conservative length.
      Tops should be modest and conservative in style and should not expose the midriff.
      Children: Subject to the same dress code as adult members.

      Semi-Formal
      Gentlemen: Jacket and tie required.
      Ladies: Dressier apparel: dresses, skirts, pants, suits, and tops.

      Take I-95 North to I-695 West (Baltimore Beltway) towards Towson. Exit at Falls Road - Exit 23B. At third traffic light, turn right onto Seminary Avenue. Go 1/4 mile and turn left onto Mays Chapel Road. Go 1.1 miles. The Five Farms Clubhouse will be on your left.


      From points North:

      Take I-95 South to I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) towards Towson. Exit at Falls Road - Exit 23B. At third traffic light, turn right onto Seminary Avenue. Go 1/4 mile and turn left onto Mays Chapel Road. Go 1.1 miles. The Five Farms Clubhouse will be on your left.


      From downtown Baltimore:

      Take I-83 North. Stay left at I-695 exits and continue toward Falls Road. At third traffic light, turn right onto Seminary Avenue. Go 1/4 mile and turn left onto Mays Chapel Road. Go 1.1 miles. The Five Farms Clubhouse will be on your left.

      From points South:

      Take I-95 North to I-695 West (Baltimore Beltway) towards Towson. From I-695, take I-83 South--Exit 23A. Go 3 miles along Southbound I-83 to Exit 10A (Northern Parkway). Turn left at the end of the ramp. At second traffic light, turn right onto Roland Avenue. Proceed .9 mile, then turn Right onto Club Road. The Roland Park Clubhouse is on the left, just after a STOP sign.


      From points North:

      Take I-95 South to I-695 West (Baltimore Beltway) towards Towson. From I-695, take I-83 South - Exit 23A. Go 3 miles along Southbound I-83 to Exit 10A (Northern Parkway). Turn left at the end of the ramp. At second traffic light, turn right onto Roland Avenue. Proceed .9 mile, then turn Right onto Club Road. The Roland Park Clubhouse is on the left, just after a STOP sign.


      From downtown Baltimore:

      Take I-83 North to Exit 9, Eastbound Cold Spring Lane. At the third traffic light, turn left onto Roland Avenue. Go North for .4 mile and make a left onto Club Road. The Roland Park Clubhouse is on the left, just after a STOP sign.

  • Dress Code
    • Baltimore Country Club members and guests are expected to dress in a conservative and appropriate manner at all times. For the purpose of these policies, “conservative” and “appropriate” shall be used when referring to clothing or attire a member, member’s child, or guest may wear while using any facility at either Roland Park or Five Farms.

      Attire should:

      • Respect the cherished traditions of the Club
      • Be considerate of other members and guests
      • Represent the conservative and tasteful social culture and ambiance of the Club and that to which it aspires

      It is the responsibility of all members to ensure that they, their children, and their guests conform to the Club’s standard of dress. If in doubt as to whether or not attire complies with these guidelines, please choose a more conservative option.

      Clubhouse Dress Policy 
      Country Club Casual dress is acceptable at all times in the Clubhouse except for the Baltimore Country Club holiday season which begins the Monday after Thanksgiving through December 31. During this time, semiformal dress is required in the main dining rooms. Gentlemen’s and boy’s shirts must be tucked in at all times without exception. Denim of any color (including jeans, dresses, skirts, and jackets) is not permitted on Club premises at any time unless expressly noted for an event. Baseball and golf hats may not be worn inside; when worn outside, the bill must always be facing forward.



      Required Standards for COUNTRY CLUB CASUAL Dress at Roland Park or Five Farms

      Gentlemen and Boys
      Standard:
      Collared dress shirts or collared polo-style shirts, sweaters, dress slacks, which include cotton chinos and dress shorts. Collared shirts are required to be worn underneath sweaters.
      Acceptable: Dress conforming to the Club’s Golf dress policy. Squash and Paddle Tennis attire are only permitted on the Grille Porch and in the Maryland Room.
      Not Acceptable: T-shirts, Collarless shirts, Tank tops, Gym shorts or spandex, Athletic gear with team logos or numeric jerseys, Camouflage patterns, Apparel decorated with multiple letters, characters, or symbols, Denim (including jeans, shirts, jackets), Overalls, Cargo-style pants, Cut-offs of any length, Bathing suits, Open-toed shoes, Crocs, Croc-like shoes, or sandals, Rubber flip flops or bare feet

      Ladies and Girls
      Standard:
      Dresses, blouses, dress tops, collarless dress shirts, collared shirts, sweaters, skirts, dress slacks, and dress shorts. All dresses, rompers, skirts, and shorts must reach a minimum of mid-thigh in length. Dresses, rompers, and tops must all have a modest neckline.
      Acceptable: Dress conforming to the Golf dress policy, dress sandals, open-toed shoes, and dress hats.
      Not Acceptable: T-shirts, Gym shorts or spandex, Athletic gear with team logos or numeric jerseys, Apparel decorated with multiple letters, characters, or symbols, Camouflage patterns, Denim (including jeans, dresses, skirts, shirts, jackets), Overalls, Cargo-style pants, Skirts, dresses, and rompers that do not meet the minimum length of mid-thigh, have a plunging neck line, show an inappropriate amount of the chest area, or expose the midriff, Cut-offs of any length, Bathing suits, Rubber flip flops, or bare feet



      Required Standards for BCC HOLIDAY ATTIRE at Roland Park or Five Farms

      Gentlemen and Boys 
      Holiday:
      Jacket and tie required. Shirts must remain tucked in at all times.
      Not Acceptable: Denim jeans, shirts, jackets of any color

      Ladies and Girls
      Holiday:
      Dresses, skirts, rompers, pants, jacket suits, tops, and sweaters. Dresses, skirts, and rompers must reach a minimum of mid-thigh in length. All dresses, tops, and sweaters must be modest with no plunging neckline.
      Not Acceptable: Denim dresses, shirts, skirts, or jackets of any color, Rompers or dresses that do not meet the minimum length of mid-thigh, Blouses and shirts that have a plunging neck line, show an excessive or inappropriate amount of the chest area, or expose the midriff
      Any clothing or footwear not permitted in other guidelines are assumed to be not acceptable for holiday dress.



      Required Standards for SPORTS DRESS at Roland Park or Five Farms

      Access at Roland Park:
      In order to maintain a pleasant dining experience for all members, it is requested that members intending to use Squash, Fitness, or Paddle facilities access these facilities through the athletic entrance. The athletic entrance is located between the Grille and fitness hallway off the patio.

      Bowling:
      Dress conforming to the Country Club Casual dress standards for gentlemen and boys, ladies, and girls.

      Fitness:
      Appropriate shorts, shirts, workout clothing, and athletic shoes may be worn in the fitness areas. Fitness users dressed in fitness attire MUST use the athletic entrance only. Fitness attire may be worn in the fitness areas, on the Grille Porch, and in the Maryland Room only.

      Not Acceptable: Distressed or threadbare attire



      GOLF

      Gentlemen and Boys
      Slacks, conservative-length shorts, tucked in collared shirts, and foul weather suits.
      Not Acceptable: Short-sleeved mock turtlenecks, Athletic attire, Cargo slacks or shorts, Open-toed shoes, Golf sandals

      Ladies and Girls
      Slacks, conservative-length skirts, skorts, shorts, and dresses (mid-thigh at the shortest), foul weather suits, sleeved and sleeveless shirts with collars or jewel-necks. Sleeveless shirts and dresses need to cover the shoulder blades and cannot cut in, but may have a slight taper as long as the back matches up with the front. A lady’s top designed to be worn on the outside of an outfit is acceptable, providing the garment is hemmed and does not expose the midriff.
      Not Acceptable: Racerback collared shirts, Non-hemmed shirts of any type, Shirts that expose the midriff, Athletic attire, Open-toed shoes, Golf sandals



      PADDLE TENNIS

      Paddle attire may be worn in the Paddle Tennis areas, on the Grille Porch, and in the Maryland Room only. Paddle Tennis players must adhere to the Club’s posted dress code when entering or using the Club’s other facilities. Paddle Tennis players dressed in Paddle attire MUST use the athletic entrance only. 



      SQUASH

      85% white attire. White gym shorts, lacrosse shorts, and collared shirts. Some colored trim or logos on all white attire is acceptable. Non-marking or gum rubber-soled shoes. Squash players must adhere to the Club’s posted dress code when entering the Clubhouse or using the Club’s other facilities. Squash attire may be worn in the Squash areas, on the Grille Porch, and in the Maryland Room only. Squash players dressed in Squash attire MUST use the athletic entrance only.

      Please note that the dress code for Tennis, Pickleball, Pool and other amenities at Five Farms will be incorporated in a future update.


  • Electronic Device Policy
    • Electronic Device Definition: Any mobile phone, smart phone, smart watch, iPad, Kindle, tablet, laptop, gaming device, and any other portable electronic device.
      Electronic devices are prohibited for all purposes, except for showing or taking photographs, in all buildings, sport facilities and grounds, golf courses, including the Adirondack area, except for the following:

      • Five Farms Card Room – No mobile phone/watch voice usage
      • Golf Course – For practice or playing purposes only
      • Pool Complex Inside the fenced area – No mobile phone/watch voice usage
      • Fitness Centers – No mobile phone/watch voice usage
      • Private rooms being used for a meeting – both campuses
      • Locker Rooms – both campuses
      • Inside personal vehicles – both campuses

      All electronic devices are to be kept out of sight, unless in designated areas.
      For your convenience, courtesy phones are located throughout the Club on both campuses and the Pool Complex.
      A guest in violation of this policy will be asked to comply without delay or leave Club grounds.

  • Venues
    • Golf

      Gentlemen: Slacks, conservative length shorts, tucked-in collared shirts, and foul weather suits.
      Ladies: Slacks, golf skirts, conservative length shorts, foul weather suits, sleeved or sleeveless shirts with collars, and jewel neck shirts with sleeves.


      Paddle 

      Athletic attire may be worn in the Paddle areas and on the Card Porch area of the Grille. Paddle players must adhere to the Club’s posted dress code when entering or using the Club’s other facilities.


      Squash

      85% white attire: Some colored trim or logos on all-white attire is acceptable. Non-marking or gum rubber-soled shoes.


      Tennis

      Tennis whites required (must be at least 85% white, some colored trim is acceptable). Collared shirts for gentlemen. Sleeved or sleeveless shirts with collars and jewel neck shirts with sleeves for ladies. White flat-soled tennis shoes are required.
      Tennis Facility: Acceptable clothing at the tennis facility includes tennis whites. Pool attire is acceptable, including flip flops, but a shirt or cover up must be worn. Fitness attire, shorts, shirt, workout clothing, and athletic shoes are acceptable.
